/ Report

CEO Succession Practices: 2015 Edition documents succession events of CEOs of S&P 500 companies. In addition to an analysis of annual data dating back to 2001, the report discusses the correlation between CEO succession and company performance, as well as the age, tenure, and professional qualifications of incoming and departing CEOs. It also describes succession planning practices based on findings from a survey of corporate secretaries, general counsel, and investor relations officers conducted by The Conference Board and highlights 10 notable CEO succession cases from 2014.

This report is made possible thanks to a grant by Heidrick & Struggles.
