Biannual Trustee Policy Summit: Insight Summary (Fall 2025)

/ Report

On November 12, 2025, CED had the privilege of hosting our annual Fall Policy Summit. We were joined by 45 Trustees, 16 Fellows, 7 speakers, and 6 guests from TCB. The Summit focused on both urgent domestic challenges, notably US fiscal policy, as well as geopolitical challenges such as the Russia-NATO confrontation. The Summit also considered trends on public opinion of capitalism in the US; the political outlook heading into the midterm elections next year; and other key issues facing business, government, and society. Importantly, the Summit featured a wide-ranging discussion among Trustees that will inform CED’s work next year and our letter to Congressional Leadership and the Administration that will be published next month.

This report captures the major insights from the day and provides a flavor of the discussion, held under the Chatham House Rule to encourage open discussion among both speakers and Trustees.

CED expresses its sincere thanks to the Summit’s sponsors, AlixPartners, RW2 Enterprises, and Seyfarth, along with the Trustees and our guest speakers for making the Summit a success.
