CMO+CCO Meter, March 2025: Communications’ Resources Disruption is hard to predict but important to plan for, and this has become a skill of the modern communications team. The emerging trade wars, the ongoing “tariff typhoon,” and uncertainty in workplace dynamics all pose challenges. Having the right resources is critical to managing these volatile conditions to create the culture and narrative for sustainable growth and corporate stability. How do CCOs feel about their team, their tools, and their budgets that will allow them to deliver this in the six months ahead?
Communications teams are ready and well-equipped. In the latest CMO+CCO Meter survey, more than half (56%) of communications leaders say they believe they are well or very well equipped with their team to improve their impact on the business in terms of team size, skills, and talent. Only 21% say they feel poorly equipped. We hear communications teams are more widely deploying artificial intelligence (AI) skills and are adopting technology into their work, resulting in gains in productivity and the ability to predict events, and even war-game response scenarios. Different teams will be at differing stages of development, but no matter where your team is on that journey, keep moving forward. Experimenting and learning in simulation mode with these tools is recommended as the right approach.
