Chief communications officers (CCOs) have earned their seat at the table, and C-Suites globally are now explicitly tasking them with supporting corporate strategy. This is according to the C-Suite Outlook 2026, a survey by The Conference Board of 1,732 C-Suite executives around the world, including 771 CEOs.

  • In 2026, the CCO is explicitly responsible for not just conveying messages but also being a strategic advisor to the CEO and other senior leaders. Corporate strategy is C-Suites’ clearly leading communications priority for 2026, according to their responses.
