The answer is clear: data, digital, analytical, and AI skills are the top priorities, but continually honing agility and adaptability remains core to the role of the CCO.  

Future CCOs also need to be skilled business strategists and operators, capable of proving the ROI of their actions and their impact on driving growth (similar to the marketing leaders’ priorities). While technology-related skills may be growing in importance, the traditional skills of effective communication remain vital (1 in 4 respondents say they will be needed even more) but can always be improved.
