How Microsoft Is Transforming the Worker Experience

March 16, 2021 | Brief

Over the past three years, Microsoft HR has been at the forefront of a major organizational transformation and deeply involved in the creation of products for both internal and external customers. This transformation was shaped by an inspiring vision document articulating the importance of employee experience that started with the following statement:

At Microsoft, our workers define the identity of our company. We come to work every day to carry out our mission—to empower every person and organization on the planet to achieve more—and we require a work environment and experiences that live up to the boldness of that mission. While the effort was initiated and led by Microsoft Core Services Engineering and Operations (CSEO), this vision led to investments in six areas depicted in the graphic below and primarily focused on frictionless and secure physical and digital experience throughout all Microsoft facilities: Getting here (getting to and around work efficiently), Being here (having dynamic access to workplace services), and Working here (having powerful tools for effective collaboration and focus).
