The diversity and inclusion function is growing in scope, complexity, and importance. Today, diversity is seen as an essential business function whose proper place is within corporate strategy. D&I is a business driver as well as a promoter of well-being, customer satisfaction, and innovation. It encompasses not only race and religion but also sexuality, ability, age, and even thinking. And inclusion requires a new understanding of the role of bias, disruption of old ways of thinking, and a consequent shift away from diversity training and toward mindful interventions and choice architecture that makes it easier for people to make good decisions.
