Recent China CEO Councils and member discussions paint a picture of an increasingly divergent, if not increasingly separated, China business environment. Many see the need for highly, or even fully localized China operations in the not-too-distant future. Many describe this future as “China for China”. Against the backdrop of intense geopolitical friction and imponderable COVID economic and sociopolitical damage, the China for China path is fraught with uncertainty. This China CEO Council meeting convened on November 18 and 19 examined China for China trends, imperatives, dynamics, and lessons.
