The CEO Center is the public policy center of The Conference Board. The nonprofit, nonpartisan, business-led policy center delivers trusted insights and reasoned solutions in the nation's interest. Members of The CEO Center are chief executive officers, board directors, and key executives of leading US companies who bring their unique experience from every sector of the economy to address today's pressing policy issues and develop policies to grow a sustainable economy and provide equal opportunities for all Americans. Collectively they represent 30+ industries and over 4 million employees.
Since its inception in 1942, The CEO Center (originally the Committee for Economic Development) has addressed national priorities to promote sustained economic growth and development to benefit all Americans. Our work in those first few years led to great policy accomplishments, including the Marshall Plan, the economic development program that helped rebuild Europe and maintain the peace; and the Bretton Woods Agreement that established the new global financial system, and both the World Bank and International Monetary Fund.
Today, The CEO Center's work is also focusing on major economic and civil challenges, including the clean energy transition, modernizing US infrastructure, technology and innovation challenges and opportunities, and rebuilding the US labor force through education reform and skills training. Our insights and solutions are shared through extensive national outreach efforts in order to achieve tangible impact. Our nation requires committed business leadership to meet the challenges of these unprecedented times and support, guide, and advance solutions in the nation's interest.
The CEO Center's work has been dedicated to addressing the core principles that for capitalism to be sustainable it must provide equal economic opportunity for all Americans.
