With many details of health care reform unknown or still to come, some companies have decided to focus on their long-term health care strategy rather than mere compliance. Businesses are asking more of health care providers and of employees. From providers, they are demanding stronger health management programs, financial efficiency, and clinical guarantees. Businesses are asking employees to share a greater portion of costs and become better consumers of health care through consumer-driven or account-based plans. Employers are also seeking ways to engage employees in wellness programs.
