On The Record with Ivan Seidenberg

Ivan Seidenberg, chairman and CEO of Verizon, discusses what it takes to become a truly global company. Seidenberg addresses the issue of global availability of managerial talent; the importance of cost control and pricing power; the correlation between innovation and the regulatory environment; and intellectual property protection. Seidenberg says that a company’s growth record is critical for attracting top talent but when it comes to sheer numbers the notion of a global shortage is overstated. As for cost control, it is a major factor because without a superior cost structure, you have no pricing power in the market.
