The knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience (KSAEs) required of the chief diversity officer (CDO) are shifting just as the barriers to CDO effectiveness are mounting. Organizations should redefine CDO KSAEs, set clear success indicators, and provide CDOs with necessary resources and authority.
