Europe's Progress in Promoting Work-Life and Diversity in the Workplace

Companies operating in the European Union are implementing diversity and work-life policies in line with comprehensive anti-discrimination legislation. While there may be an implementation gap between organizational and public policy on the one hand and workplace practice on the other, some companies are embracing diversity and work-life programs as business opportunities. While progress has been made in creating a more diverse and inclusive workforce, challenges remain in key areas such as gender equality, employee happiness and engagement, work-life policies which may not be sufficient for long-term change, and discrimination against migrants and minorities.
