AI offers a credible path to stabilizing the US health care workforce, reducing administrative burden, extending clinical capacity, and enabling new care models. However, at the same time, its implementation introduces new cognitive, operational, safety, and ethical risks. This article examines risks and concerns across six interconnected layers, highlighting how health care leaders can use the technology to create value while mitigating the risks.
