Emerging markets muddled through another year of slow growth in 2016, but growth is likely to improve slightly in 2017 with tailwinds from energy prices.  However, there are limited upsides, while downside risks remain high. Global policy shifts will bring big uncertainties, and global financial markets will see greater volatility ahead.
