As leaders encounter a profoundly changing world of work, they must revisit their total rewards strategy. Cash alone is not enough to attract, motivate and retain Gen Z, millennial and many other workers. Employees are looking for holistic packages that reflect their priorities and values. In this Working Group we will explore the critical need for refreshed approaches and programs that address business needs and changes in labor markets, stakeholder concerns, regulations, and new workforce models (on site, hybrid, remote and independent workers).
Employers invest a great deal that is not always captured on TR statements. The use, creativity, and range of nonmonetary rewards has never been greater. Learning opportunities, clear career paths, coaching, flexibility, autonomy, a worker-centric culture, gifts and travel rewards increasingly contribute to the total rewards landscape. Data show that employees value much of this more than cash. We will discuss what defines “total rewards?” What can be done to increase employee motivation through noncash rewards and incentives?
