The Conference Board
Andrew Bell is a senior fellow, human capital, at the Conference Board. In this role, Bell supports the human capital practice which includes The Conference Board Human Capital Exchange™, research, conferences, webcasts, and programs in a broad spectrum of human capital areas. Bell is also the program director for the Conference Board Human Resources Business Partners Council and the Emerging Markets Human Resources Council. He is also a senior fellow, human capital, supporting the human capital practice. Bell has been involved with The Conference Board for more than fifteen years both as a Council member and subsequently as a program director. He has previously served as the program director for the CHRO I Council, the Asia Pacific Human Resource Council, and the Asia Pacific Diversity Council. For the Conference Board, Bell has organized and chaired an HR conference, moderated webcasts, and authored two reports: Leadership Development in Asia Pacific—Identifying and Developing Leaders for Growth (2006) and Redefining the Employee Value Proposition—New Developments in Asia Pacific (2005).
Through his corporate and consulting experience, Bell has had leadership development and HR strategy assignments in over 30 countries across five continents. Previously, Bell worked for Unilever (a US$50B business) for 23 years in HR roles based in the UK, China, and Singapore and eventually became SVP Human Resources, East Asia Pacific. At Unilever, Bell acquired extensive experience as a human resource business partner to line managers and business leaders across the world. He has subsequently run his own HR consulting businesses in Singapore and California, and from 2010 to 2014, was vice president of International for CPP, Inc. based in Mountain View. Bell originally studied law and is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development in the UK. He currently lives near San Francisco.
