Anne Stevens is the Council Director for the Global Women in Leadership Council and is based in the UK.

She is an award-winning, MBA-qualified senior business leader who has operated at C-suite level in several leading companies, including Rio Tinto, IBM, CSC, NCH, and CMC Markets. Previously a Global Vice President with Rio Tinto and earlier a European Director with IBM, Anne has worked across mature markets including the Americas, Australia, and Canada, as well as emerging economies such as China, South Africa, Peru, Madagascar, and Mongolia. She is recognised as a catalyst for change and transformation, with deep expertise in strategy and execution, mergers, acquisitions and divestments, executive development and succession planning, talent management, and gender balance and inclusion.

Her industry experience spans manufacturing, IT services, consulting, financial services, mining and metals, education, and HR tech. Anne is also an internationally recognised speaker on gender balance and inclusion, and was named a Global Inspirational Woman at the WIN Conference in Rome. She was awarded an honorary doctorate by the University of Portsmouth in recognition of her global business achievements, services to women in business, and charity work.

She is an executive mentor and coach, as well as a member of several charity boards. She is Chair of the Advisory Board for the Faculty of Business and Law at the University of Portsmouth, serves on the international Advisory Board of WIN, and is Entrepreneur in Residence at the University of Portsmouth, where she supports entrepreneurial capacity across the Business School, staff, students, and SMEs. She also serves as Co-Lead for Portsmouth Business Support Service, helping local entrepreneurs prepare to launch their businesses and drawing on her international career to support future business leaders.
