Finding a Definition of Employee Engagement

Executives are finding that employee engagement doesn’t mean the same thing to everyone at every company. The relevant question becomes “What does employee engagement mean to us?” Employee engagement involves the interplay between three factors: cognitive commitment, emotional attachment, and the resulting behavioral outcomes. Employee engagement has a set of assumptions as to what drives employees’ attachments to work and company. Common drivers    are pride in one’s company and an employee’s relationship with his/her manager.
