Further Decline or is There Recovery in Sight?

October 23, 2019 12:00 PM ET [12:00] (New York) | (1 hr) | Time Zone Converter

As global industrial production keeps declining, trade disputes rage on, and globalization retreats, it feels as if China’s economy is in the eye of the storm. While not undamaged by all those events, official estimates of China’s growth suggest the economy has only modestly slowed down.

Underlying the numbers, however, are significant pressures on different parts of the country's financial system, suggesting China’s economy is undergoing some seismic shifts. Are things getting worse before they get better?

In this webcast, we will examine:

  • What is going on with China’s manufacturing? How do state owned enterprises, private business and global companies compare?
  • Is China making the adjustments from an export- and investment driven economy to one based on consumption and services?
  • Is the role of government policy changing?
  • And what is happening to the labor market?

Who Should Attend: Those with an interest in the economic, business, and policy direction of the US and global economy
