As multinationals find that more of their employees, customers, and partners are based in China, they recognize the need to develop a culturally sensitive lens when identifying people that will help them achieve their goals. At the same time, many multinational companies use leadership competency models that measure traits and behaviors by a Western-centric yardstick (i.e., assertiveness, self-confidence, open and direct communication styles). Those from Asian cultures may have different ways of communicating and demonstrating leadership. This webcast will briefly review findings from a recent Conference Board Research Working Group survey of Chinese nationals working for Western MNCs in China.
