Energy price volatility is expected to continue. How will it affect the way the global economic pie is sliced? In this report, the short-term impact on the global economy, the consumer response, and the effects on labor markets and investment are explored. In the medium term, four future scenarios are outlined:

  1. A further collapse of prices
  2. Stabilization at current low prices
  3. Recovery of previous higher prices
  4. A boom/bust environment with wide fluctuations

These scenarios are intended to help businesses better assess their strategies and build capacities to strengthen agility and resilience to meet the challenges.
