Due to changes to the SEC rules governing the proxy disclosure of executive compensation in publicly traded companies, the Summary Compensation Table in proxy statements now includes post-retirement compensation and perquisites and stock option grants. As a result, The Conference Board’s annual analysis of top executive compensation draws on a distinctly different mix of total compensation elements than the components of "total compensation" in previous years. In addition to providing a brief description of how the rule changes have affected the report, The 2007 Top Executive Compensation Report: Key Findings offers top-line results from the full report and an overview of compensation trends by company size and industry.
