US trend growth estimates stay at about 2.5 percent for the next few quarters. Despite a stronger dollar, soft global environment, and weak investment, US economic growth is supported by higher consumer spending and improving construction activity. Slowing demographics are more fundamentally affecting economic conditions. Therefore, medium trend growth in GDP is the slowest ever, projected to reach as low as 1.6 percent by the beginning of the next decade.
