The Conference Board CEO Challenge® 2015: Gulf Cooperation Council Edition

While their peers elsewhere in the world are primarily focused on “controlling the controllable” within their own organizations to drive growth, CEOs in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region say they are also challenged by the highly volatile global political and economic risk environment, government regulation, and expanding into new markets. They rank Global Political/Economic Risk as their top challenge (tied with Human Capital) in this year’s survey—the highest ranking given to this risk-related challenge in any global region. GCC CEOs realize their organizations must cope not only with expanding external risks but also intensifying government regulation at home, along with wage inflation, labor relations, and cybersecurity.
