Offshoring is not always the best or the only answer for management of knowledge process jobs. A combination of factors—labor availability, experience, cost, innovation skills, and customer service—may dictate a different solution that relies less on India, China, and other traditional destinations. The emergence of terms such as “reshoring,” “inshoring,” “onshoring,” and “nearshoring” in recent years is a trend that bears watching as global competition for knowledge jobs intensifies.
