Despite a slowing of women’s corporate advancement in recent years, companies value inclusion of women not just for benchmarking, but for attracting and retaining talent. Some, like Goldman Sachs and Merrill Lynch, have realized the business case for supporting the career development of female employees. Successful inclusion programs are wholly integrated into the organization, run like a business unit, and include men. The ability of women to advance still lies within: in networking, acquiring leadership and managerial skills, and using the honest feedback of a mentor.
