China’s turbo growth and trade surplus may intensify imbalances, both within China and globally, for years to come. Multinational businesses that have benefited most from China’s explosive growth are likely to face a more adverse environment due to two factors: a rapid appreciation of Chinese currency (RMB) and a more proactive Chinese government that will exert investment and export controls, slowing markets.
