Women and Leadership: Creating Opportunities for Advancement

With smaller numbers of U.S. workers expected during the next decade and increasing numbers of women entering the workforce, more business leaders are realizing that competing globally will require making good use of all the human resources at their command. To better use female talent in the workforce, companies must: implement flexible work arrangements, establish mentoring programs, set up and encourage mentoring, measure results, and tie compensation to progress. In turn, women need to hone communications skills, build teams, and relentlessly promote themselves. They also must develop new skills, take new   assignments, and form alliances.
