We’re in our busy season of Council meetings and Conferences. We’ve had a strong start, and I attend as many as I can as I always learn. I had the good fortune to attend the East Coast Employee Health Care Conference at the New York Marriott Marquis where the theme was leading with purpose and the impact of excellent benefits programs. The conference began with a panel of employees from several organizations who shared “How My Company’s Benefits Changed My Life.” Employees from a cross-section of industries, professions, and life experiences stood before an audience of 1000+ and talked about how benefits administration, not often viewed as the most glamorous part of the working environment, changed lives, saved lives, and made life worth living again. There were few dry eyes when they were done. Just a reminder of the important work we do and the opportunity we have to lead with purpose.
