Last month we talked about the additional “prize” identified via the “Signposts of Innovation” project – which was structure! More members are telling us that this framework is useful in expressing more simply the interactions needed among different functions and capabilities as a prerequisite for successful innovation.
This month we are zeroing in on one of the signposts: the Internal Innovation Network. Many of you may refer to this as Innovation Culture building and nurturing . Of the six signposts - Technology (R&D), Digitization Environmental and Social Sustainability, Customer Experience and Branding, Internal Innovation Network, External Innovation Ecosystem - leaders continue to identify the Internal Innovation Network as the BIG one. It almost represents a foundation without which the others will remain unproductive.
Check out the suite of elements to consider and adopt to create an employee environment where the mind is set for creativity, change, and growth. As an appetizer, consider that “high innovators” typically are very deliberate in cultivating internal collaboration abilities that provide a climate of psychological safety and trust.
