Sustaining high levels of engagement is a never-ending challenge. HR professionals need to step up to build leaders who are able and willing to engage employees. In order to do this, HR needs to begin providing support to leaders at all levels of the organization. Otherwise, the risk of disengagement spreading throughout the organization becomes more likely. You can’t have an engaged workforce without engaged leaders.
That’s just one of the insights from our recently released 2018 I 2019 Global Leadership Forecast (our joint project with DDI and EY on one of the world’s largest leadership development studies); more than 25,000 business leaders and over 2500 HR professionals affirmed that organizational engagement starts with engaged leaders.
Last month also saw the release of our Asia perspective on the DNA of Engagement report, DNA of Engagement 2018: Moments That Matter throughout the Employee Life Cycle—Implications for Asia. As we know from The Conference Board C-Suite Challenge™ survey for 2018, “failure to attract/retain top talent” ranked as the top hot-button issue in Asia. In response, organizations there are increasingly looking to deliver differentiated employee value propositions (EVPs) to attract, retain, and engage high-performing talent. Read more about what Asia companies are doing to improve the employee experience.
Be sure to hold the dates for the 2018 Employee Engagement and Experience Summit in Las Vegas on October 18 & 19 which will include a visit to the headquarters of Zappos where we’ll hear directly from this award-winning company how they build a culture of engagement to delight their customers. Better yet, register now.
Hope to see you at ATD in San Diego in just a few days (session details below); be sure to stop in for the session on employee engagement insights at both of these sessions.
