Prices in the US for apparel, some household goods, and toys are expected to rise sharply in the coming months as the country’s de minimis exemption for imported goods from the People’s Republic of China (PRC) and Hong Kong valued below $800 ended on May 2, 2025. As a result, US inflation will increase and there will likely be modifications to supply chains due to tariff-induced price pressures.
