Background

The Conference Board Governance & Sustainability Center will be launching a new Working Group on Best Practices in Reporting on Corporate Citizenship & Philanthropy. Companies have wide latitude in how to address this topic, as this is an area of limited regulation and attention from the major ESG reporting frameworks.

The Current Landscape of Measuring and Reporting on Corporate Citizenship and Philanthropy

 At the kick-off meeting, we’ll discuss:

  •  The current legal and regulatory environment governing the measurement and reporting of corporate citizenship;

  • An overview of corporate citizenship reporting today, including where companies are reporting it (CSR vs. ESG reports) and what topics they are covering (e.g., racial equality);

  • The type of information they are providing (quantitative vs. qualitative); and

  • The expectations of key stakeholders: including employees, consumers, investors, communities, and governments, among others.

Description

Participating in a Working Group is an exclusive benefit for Members of The Conference Board ESG and Marketing & Communications Centers, and there is no fee associated with this program. As with our other programs, this session is held under the Chatham House Rule to provide a forum for a truly candid and constructive conversation.
