Artificial intelligence is reshaping how businesses operate, make decisions, and interact with the world. As innovation accelerates, so do the ethical, societal, governance, and environmental challenges it presents.

This four-part roundtable series brings together thought leaders from across sectors to explore how companies can lead responsibly in the age of AI. Sessions will unpack the geopolitical dynamics shaping AI policy, the environmental footprint of AI technologies, the need for robust governance and oversight, and opportunities to leverage AI for social good.

Session One Recap: Bias and Beyond – Responsible AI in a Shifting Landscape

Held on June 5, the first session addressed global regulatory developments (U.S., EU, China), bias in AI systems, and practical governance strategies companies are deploying to advance responsible AI.

Session Two: The Intersection of Environmental Sustainability and Responsible AI

August 14 | 11:00 AM – 12:30 PM ET

In this session, we’ll examine AI’s complex relationship with sustainability – its potential to drive progress and its growing environmental toll. Key discussion topics will include:

  • AI for Sustainability: How companies are using AI to advance environmental objectives – such as emissions tracking, energy efficiency, supply chain transparency, and climate scenario modeling.
  • The Environmental Cost of AI: Understanding the hidden toll – energy-hungry data centers, intensive resource consumption, and rare earth mineral dependencies.
  • Navigating Tradeoffs: What leadership, governance, and cross-functional strategies are needed to ensure that AI innovation supports, rather than undermines, ESG and climate goals.

Speakers will include leaders in sustainability, corporate governance, and AI deployment strategies, offering both global and sector-specific perspectives.
