The Conference Board Governance Center® facilitates small groups of prominent senior executives from companies, investors, and advisors for confidential discussions of key issues.

Founded in 1993, The Governance Center draws upon authoritative research from The Conference Board. It is committed to helping corporations enhance their governance processes, inspire market confidence, and facilitate capital formation: goals that have never been more formidable, or more essential, than they are in today’s fraught regulatory environment and globally competitive marketplace.

We facilitate small groups of prominent senior executives from companies, investors, and advisors for confidential discussions of key issues. We provide:

  • a neutral, independent forum for debate and collaboration between issuers and
    investors;
  • custom benchmarking and research;
  • access to experts who can help synthesize and analyze the most recent developments in
    regulation; and
  • an opportunity for participants to shape thought leadership on key governance issues

Directors Need a Working Knowledge of Their Company

Below is a timely analysis from Donna Dabney, our retired Executive Director, Governance Center. (reposted with permission of Agenda)

Directors should be expected to be familiar with their companies’ products or services, but they should not be expected to have the same level of knowledge as management.

In November, Agenda published a provocative infographic on Twitter directors that don’t tweet, which raised the question of to what extent directors should be involved in using what their company offers.
