Job Satisfaction 2025: US Worker Satisfaction Rebounds Sharply

Our latest job satisfaction survey, fielded in January 2025, saw a large increase in overall job satisfaction, resulting in the highest rating since the survey's inception in 1987. Moreover, significant gains in satisfaction were recorded against 26 of 27 specific elements of job satisfaction surveyed. Despite these generalized gains, younger workers, aged 18-24 expressed the least satisfaction among all age groups as they have in the past three surveys.

In 2025, overall job satisfaction actually declined among this group suggesting a worrying trend. In this briefing, we explore wide differences in worker satisfaction by age, gender, work arrangements, and intent to stay or leave, and we reveal the ‘sweet spot’ where worker retention and satisfaction converge.
