Driving Future Business Success

This event will dive deep into the true issues facing diversity, equity, and inclusion professionals today, and bring together top-level practitioners to discuss the issues and potential solutions. By attending, you will gain insight into how industry experts are addressing these challenges in real-time at their organizations.

Practitioners will come from many different industries and types of companies, offering insight into how to apply DEI knowledge and solutions in different situations for successful outcomes. You will hear from a speaker lineup of in-house practitioners who are doing this work and will share honest, genuine insights they have learned over time in this space. They will share with you the details of how they work, where they have had to swerve and change direction, and how to achieve results.

This event does not focus on showcasing an organization’s DEI initiative that depicts them in only a positive light, but instead looks to see the HOW behind the results: How did they do it? What steps did they take? Where were the setbacks or challenges they had to adapt to? This work is not a linear progression, and we dive into that.

Who should attend:

  • CDOs and C-Level executives
  • Vice Presidents and Directors of: Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, Talent Management, and Human Resources
  • Professionals with responsibility for: Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, Organization Culture, Leadership Development, Employee Engagement, Learning, Succession Planning, Learning and Development, Employee Relations, Talent Acquisition, Global Business, Ethics, and Integrity, Total Rewards, Cross-Cultural Marketing, and Supplier Diversity.

Watch our video to learn more about why you should attend:

Human Capital Reporting: What’s Age Got to Do With It?

In today’s data-driven world, companies are increasingly compelled to disclose metrics about their workforce. These data often appear in ESG reports, CSR reports, or Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion reports. Internationally, companies are required to disclose human capital data and are adopting reporting frameworks such as ISO 30415 -Human Resource Management-Diversity and Inclusion or GRI 405-Diversity and Equal Opportunity standards for reporting workforce data. In the United States, the Securities and Exchange Commission is poised to require additional human capital data disclosures. This session will discuss workforce data reporting with a specific focus on age and why you should include age in your workforce disclosures.

Traditional Bias Training Doesn't Work...Bias Interrupters Do: Four Real World Examples

Joan C. Williams, Sullivan Professor of Law at UC Law SF and Founding Director of the Bias Interrupters initiative, will discuss her team’s new work guiding member companies to implement Bias Interrupters: small steps that lead to big changes. Companies used metrics to measure bias in hiring, performance evaluations, access to promotable opportunities, and workplace culture, then implemented small structural tweaks and customized workshops to learn what bias looks like and effective strategies to interrupt bias. The results have been dramatic: Bias Interrupters improved outcomes for all groups, particularly women and people of color, across all business systems.
