Over the past five years, the implementation of sustainable business practices has become an increasingly important feature of large multinational companies’ long-term China strategy. As China’s environment continues to deteriorate, and social and economic pressures build, failing to address corporate sustainability issues could have serious future cost, reputation and growth consequences for companies operating in China.
The Conference Board’s China Corporate Responsibility & Sustainability Council provides China-based senior executives with a program and meeting place through which to deepen their knowledge, sharpen their skills and share experience and actionable solutions on the management of China-specific corporate responsibility and sustainability issues. The Council provides a peer network that meets two times a year in an informal setting and on an off-the-record basis, facilitating a high degree of interaction and learning amongst members. /p>
The Council also provides access to The Conference Board’s China Center expertise and resources on sustainability and corporate citizenship, and brings in expert external presenters and participants to expand awareness of new developments and challenges in the field.
Members of the Council should be senior executives in charge of sustainability, corporate responsibility, corporate social responsibility, corporate citizenship, community engagement or closely related activities for Mainland China.
