According to a survey by The Conference Board and American for the Arts, companies consider the arts to be important in building quality of life, stimulating creative thinking and problem solving, and offering networking opportunities. Download Business Contributions to the Arts: 2017 Edition.
As part of their employee engagement programs, companies provide a range of arts-related activities. The highest percentages of companies reported offering:
- Board service opportunities at arts organizations (68 percent)
- Volunteer opportunities at arts organizations (65 percent)
- Free or discounted tickets to an arts event (63 percent)
In addition, companies bring the arts into the workplace by developing a corporate art collection, presenting concerts or art exhibitions in the workplace, and holding employee art exhibitions, battle of the bands, or performances of employee art work.
