By Matteo Tonello, Managing Director, Corporate Leadership at The Conference Board Despite the proliferation of professional standards for the industry in the past year, none of the main sets of behavioral guidelines appears to have emerged as predominant. Among the standards most frequently adopted by participants in The Conference Board’s Corporate Communications Practices survey, the Page Principles issued by the Arthur W. Page Society are chosen as the model by 26.3 percent of manufacturing firms and 30.8 percent of companies in the $10 billion to $24.9 billion annual revenue category. However, as many as 54.5 percent of nonfinancial services organizations report not adhering to any of the main codes of ethics in corporate communications, which also include those issued by the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) and the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC). Download the report for more information about professional standards in the corporate communications industry.
