The just released Conference Board Consumer Confidence Index®  improved moderately in January 2021 after decreasing in December. While consumers appraisal of present-day conditions did weaken in January due to ongoing COVID concerns, their expectations for the economy and jobs advanced, suggesting that consumers foresee conditions improving soon.
