Dr. Wee Kean Fong is the Deputy China Country Director of World Resources Institute (WRI). He has more than 20 years of professional experience on sustainability, including climate, environment, and urban development. He is leading WRI’s corporate sustainability initiatives in China, including the Science Based Targets for Climate (SBTi), Science Based Targets for Nature, Greenhouse Gas Protocol, corporate renewable energy procurement, corporate supply chains, and others. On broader climate issues, Dr. Fong has extensive experience on low-carbon development planning in China at both national and subnational levels. From 2010 to 2018, he was leading a global initiative on city climate actions. He led the development of the GHG Protocol for Cities, which is currently the most widely used standard for city greenhouse gas accounting and reporting.
