Virginia Gambale is a successful technology leader, investor and experienced Board Director. As Managing Partner of Azimuth Partners LLC, Ms. Gambale operates globally, as an advisor and consultant, focused on the use of disruptive technologies (e.g. Cloud, AI, Quantum, data analytics, Blockchain/Crypto Currencies and consumer digital platforms) to assist transformation or facilitating growth in both large corporations and middle market. She is also an advisor to several AI startup companies.

 Ms. Gambale is highly regarded for her innovative thinking, leadership, and ability to deliver results. She has served on over 20 Public and Private boards including: JetBlue (NASDAQJBLU) 15 year tenure and Chair of Compensation Committee, Motive (NASDAQ-MOTV), Piper Jaffray (NYSE-PJC), Workbrain (TSE-WB), Synchronoss Technologies (NASDAQ-SNCR), FD Technologies (LSE:FDRVF) and IQ Financial (Chairwoman). She is often a member of the Audit Committee, and often serves as Compensation, Transaction or Technology Committee Chair as well as Board Chairwoman. Ms. Gambale is particularly skilled at scaling Post IPO companies (e.g. JetBlue, Nutanix and others).  As Chair of Nutanix, Ms Gambale has participated in recruiting  a new CEO, and made changes at the Board & Governance levels as well as working with first time CEO  that facilitated tripling the Market Cap & share price, as well as driving the company from a loss to over 300 million to over 800 million in positive Free Cash Flow, tripled revenue and is highly profitable with continued growth performance in less than 4 years.  Also, as Head of the Technology Committee at JetBlue she helped design Fly-Fi (first high speed Wi-Fi in a cockpit), and drove technological metrics as Chair of the Compensation Committee which led to significant company growth.

She is known for her  AI forward strategy expertise,  and has identified & facilitated the concepts of Agentic architecture not solely for efficiencies within the corporate environment, but also as the offering for customer based interaction in B-B and B-C companies.

A frequent speaker on AI Strategy & Governance, Quantum Computing, Hybrid and Multi-Cloud and various Board Governance topics at AI Summits, NACD Summit, NASDAQ events and the Conference Board.

 As a former senior operating executive of Global Corporations, she held senior management positions (including CIO and Managing Director) at: Merrill Lynch, Bankers Trust, Deutsche Bank and Marsh & McLennan. Additionally, Ms. Gambale was the Head of Deutsche Bank Strategic Ventures, and subsequently a General Partner at Deutsche Bank Capital and ABS Ventures until founding Azimuth Partners in 2003. This provides for a unique skillset of operating, financial and governance expertise to complement the deep emerging technology background. 

A former concert pianist in her early years, Ms. Gambale is on the Board of Trustees for the Juilliard School and was the Board President of the Newport Music Festival, an International Music Festival from 2014-2019. She is also an adjunct faculty member at Columbia University and Mentor for Columbia University’s Masters in Technology Leadership. Ms. Gambale has a B.S. Degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from the New York Institute of Technology.
