Tamara L. Lundgren is the former Chairman and CEO of Radius Recycling, Inc., a global leader in metals recycling and steel manufacturing. During her 17-year tenure as CEO, Lundgren led the transformation of the company from a regional Pacific Northwest enterprise into one of the largest manufacturers and exporters of recycled metals in North America. This period of strategic growth culminated in the July 2025 sale of Radius (formerly NASDAQ: RDUS) to the U.S. subsidiary of Toyota Tsusho Corporation (TTC) for a 120% premium—one of the highest deal premia recorded in a public industrial transaction.

Appointed CEO in 2008 and Chairman in 2020, Ms. Lundgren drove a comprehensive evolution of the company’s footprint and technological capabilities. Under her leadership, Radius expanded geographically to over 100 locations across the U.S., Western Canada, and Puerto Rico, including seven deepwater ports located on both coasts of the U.S., Hawaii, and Puerto Rico. Through over 40 acquisitions, significant capital investments in advanced metal recovery technologies, and the launch of the 3PR™ and GRN™ business lines, Lundgren positioned the company to meet the rising global demand for recycled metals, including copper and aluminum. She also led the rebranding of the 117-year-old Schnitzer Steel to Radius Recycling to better align the corporate identity with the company’s role in the global low-carbon economy,

Under her guidance, Radius achieved significant global recognition, being named one of TIME’s 100 Most Influential Companies and recognized at Davos in 2023 as the Most Sustainable Company in the World by Corporate Knights. The company was also recognized for ten consecutive years as one of the World’s Most Ethical Companies® by Ethisphere.

Prior to joining Radius in 2005 as Chief Strategy Officer, Ms. Lundgren spent 25 years in investment banking and law. She served as a Managing Director at JPMorgan Chase and Deutsche Bank in London and New York, and was previously a partner at the law firm Hogan & Hartson, LLP in Washington, D.C.

Ms. Lundgren currently serves on the Board of Directors of Ryder System, Inc. (NYSE: R), where she chairs the Corporate Governance and Nominating Committee. She is a Trustee of The Conference Board and a former member of the Business Roundtable. Previously, she served as Chair of the Board of Directors of the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Presidential Appointee to the President’s Advisory Committee for Trade Policy and Negotiations under the Obama and Trump administrations, member of the President’s Advisory Council of Wellesley College, and the China Center Advisory Board of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
