Ruth Ferguson is an Executive Vice President and Human Resources Executive for Wells Fargo’s Consumer, Small & Business Banking (CSBB). In this role, she supports Saul Van Beurden and the entire CSSB Leadership team while leading the broader CSBB HR team that provides HR support for nearly 43,000 employees. Prior to supporting CSBB, Ruth was the HR Executive for COO, Risk, Audit and Legal. In her role, she ensures the appropriate HR strategy, infrastructure, programs, services and tools are in place to support leaders and employees. She is a member of the HR Leadership Team reporting to Bei Ling and she is based in Hudson Yards in New York City.

Ruth has worked in HR and financial services for more than 30 years and has been with Wells Fargo since 2021. Prior to joining Wells Fargo, Ruth spent 5 years with the Related Companies as the Chief Human Resources Officer and a member of the Executive Leadership team. Prior to Related, she spent 9 years at Bank of American Merrill Lynch in various HR roles. At BAML she was the leader of HR teams for Global Corporate and Investment Banking, Global Markets, and Latin America. From 2010 – 2013, Ruth lived in Hong Kong serving as the Head of Human Resources for the Asia Pacific region, with responsibilities across Asia Pacific including 12 countries and over 8,000 employees across all lines of business. In each of these roles, she was responsible for all major HR initiatives, including the hiring, retention and compensation/recognition of all regional employees. Ruth began her career as an entry-level analyst at JPMorgan Chase. She spent 15 years with JPMorgan in a variety of roles including managing JPMorgan’s Global Campus Recruiting for Banking and Markets, as well as being a senior HR generalist for various groups across the Global Investment Bank, including Research, Capital Markets and Global Equities. Ruth graduated from Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pa., where she majored in Economics and minored in French and Music. She earned an MBA from NYU Stern School of Business in Finance and Accounting. Ruth is the Vice Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of Dickinson College. She is also a member of the Board of Trustees of the New York Choral Society, a group in which she also performs. Ruth lives in Hoboken, NJ. She is an avid runner and fitness buff, and she loves food, wine, and global travel.
