Senior Advisor and former Global Managing Director
Korn Ferry
Richard S. Marshall is Senior Advisor and former Global Managing Director at Korn Ferry. For 20 years, he led the Corporate Affairs practice at the world’s largest executive search firm. He is one of the few advisors who has sat on both sides of the table: two decades as a chief communications officer, followed by two decades recruiting the leaders who hold those roles.
At Korn Ferry, he led more than 500 C-suite searches across industries and geographies. His clients included nearly a quarter of the Fortune 500 among them PepsiCo, Boeing, General Mills, Microsoft, eBay and Micron as well as global companies such as SoftBank and Nestlé. His work in sports has included the NFL, PGA Tour, NASCAR, New York Mets and Dallas Cowboys. His investor relations placements include Walmart, GE, Visa and Virgin Galactic, as well as the IROs for two of the largest IPOs in history, Alibaba and Saudi Aramco.
Prior to search, he spent 20 years as Chief Communications Officer at three global companies: The Home Depot, Silicon Graphics (SGI) and Subaru of America - each during transformational periods including strategic turnarounds, hypergrowth, international expansion and M&A.
He is active in the Page Society, SEMINAR and NIRI. He currently serves as a Board Advisor to Applecart, the Blackstone-backed marketing technology company; the UVA Darden Communications Council; and the Economic Club of Indiana.
Marshall holds a B.S. in Marketing from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business and completed graduate work at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
