Monica Ko is a licensed pharmacist and seasoned healthcare strategist with over two decades of experience spanning managed care, pharmacy benefit management, and clinical innovation. Since joining WTW’s Health & Benefits practice in 2015, Monica has spearheaded enterprise-wide initiatives that transform emerging pharmacy trends into actionable strategies for Fortune 500 clients across diverse industries.She currently serves as the Rx Solutions Leader.

She led the WTW Clinical Marketplace Innovation Hub, a center of excellence focused on advancing intellectual capital in the evolving pharmacy landscape—particularly in gene therapies and disruptive third-party solutions. Her expertise includes vendor contract management (procurement, negotiation, and auditing), clinical benchmarking, utilization management, and integrated wellbeing strategies. 

Monica has also led WTW’s pharmacy Talent & Development team, fostering career growth and mentorship, and directed the Specialty Product Developmentteam, driving innovation in specialty drug management. Her commitment toinclusion is reflected in her leadership role with the WTW Gender Equality team in Milwaukee, where she championed awareness and engagement around diversityand equity.

Prior to WTW, Monica spent nearly a decade at a national pharmacy benefit manager, where she held dual roles as an analytic consultant and clinical account executive. She developed and coded pharmacy claims analyses to inform strategic recommendations and led clinical initiatives—including formulary design and utilization management—for major BlueCross BlueShield plans.

Education and Credentials

Monica holds a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Illinois–Chicago and a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering from Northwestern University. She is licensed in Illinois.
