Meredith Touchstone

AVP, Benefits
CarMax

Meredith Touchstone has 25+ years of experience leading employee benefits for jumbo national employers. She currently leads the CarMax Benefits team with overall accountability for programs supporting roughly 30,000 associates across the country. Meredith has deep expertise in innovation, strategy and design, compliance, benchmarking, communications, associate engagement strategies, vendor management, and administration.

Her personal passion is in health innovation—spending time understanding the market, consulting with startups and established vendors, and leaning in to think about how healthcare is changing and how employer mindsets and the market more broadly need to evolve to anticipate it. She is also deeply passionate about managing and supporting population health, ensuring employees have the resources they need when health problems arise while offering and designing resources to positively influence their health journeys.

Meredith currently serves as the Vice Chair of the Board of Directors for the Virginia Center for Health Innovation, as a member of Anthem’s Client Advisory Group for National Accounts, and on Mercer’s Health Innovation Advisory Board. She also serves on the Virginia Task Force on Primary Care. Meredith has spoken nationally on a range of employee benefits topics in many different forums.

She lives in Moseley, VA (just outside of Richmond) with her spouse, Steven, a crotchety old dog named Posey, a feral puppy named Hazel Grace, a pleasantly plump “emotional support” cat named Griffon, and a tiny, neurotic cat named Smith. She has two amazing kiddos, William (23) and Berkeley (18) — Go HOKIES! — and is the proud mother-in-law to Sarah (22) and “Titi” (grandma) to her pride and joy, Beau William. Her favorite things include snuggling Beau and floating in Smith Mountain Lake on hot summer afternoons listening to tunes and the laughter of family and friends.
