Melanie Tinto is the Senior Vice President, Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO), of W.W. Grainger, Inc., a $17.9 billion leading broad line distributor with operations primarily in North America and Japan. In this role, Melanie leads Grainger’s global HR strategy and oversees the company’s commitment to maintaining a culture where every team member has the opportunity to learn, develop and achieve success. She also champions efforts to build a future-ready workforce, ensuring Grainger’s people strategy and technology investments equip team members with the skills and tools needed to perform and grow.

Melanie joined Grainger in 2025 with 30 years of experience in the Human Resources field. She most recently served as CHRO for WEX, a financial technology solutions provider. During her tenure, Melanie transformed WEX’s HR function into a strategic business partner and led the global HR function to focus on process improvement, scalable processes and technology integration. Prior to WEX, Melanie served as Vice President of Global Talent Acquisition and Chief Learning Officer at Medtronic, and previously held senior leadership roles at Hewlett-Packard, Walmart and Bank of America.

Melanie holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Maine and an MBA from the University of Connecticut. She serves on the Board of Advisors for the University of Maine Business School and is a 2026 Daniel Burnham Fellow with Leadership Greater Chicago.
